CHANTILLY AIR OPENS NEW DOORS AT MANASSAS

After a one-year delay, Chantilly Air has launched a new flagship location at Manassas Regional Airport (KHEF). The $15 million facility presents over 60,000-square-feet for maintenance, management, passenger, and hangar space use. Problems related to the pandemic coupled with environmental issues caused the opening originally scheduled for last spring to be pushed to this year. A grand opening was not held for the new location in an effort to uphold pandemic safety precautions and protocols.

Chantilly Air began operations in 1990 at KHEF with a single airplane and crew. In 2018, the company dedicated efforts focused on an expansion toward seizing an opportunity to bid on new FBO space when it became available at the airport. The new FBO offers space for Part 135 and 91 operations along with a Part 145 repair station. The company anticipates the new facility will aid in the growth of the airport’s current support of an estimated 30 percent of Virginia’s $1.1 billion general aviation economic activity.
