BUSINESS AVIATION ACTIVITY IN THE U.S. CONTINUES TO RISE

Business aviation recovery in the U.S. has continued to soar according to a recent report released by WingX. The demand for U.S. business jets is 30 percent higher compared to July of 2019 and activity is up four percent from the same period. According to WingX, recovery in the U.S. is bolstered by leisure travel supported by the charter market. Year-to-date charter demand increased by ten percent compared to 2019.

Utilization rates in the charter market have reached an estimated 50 hours per unit on a monthly basis with demand focused on super light and medium-cabin jets. The Phenom 300, Challenger 300, and Citation Latitude aircraft are witnessing the highest utilization. Florida holds the lead with 26 percent more business aviation sectors compared to July 2019. California is the second busiest state with flights increased by half in July compared to 2020. Flights in California are also more than ten percent ahead of July 2019 levels. On a global scale, business aviation experienced 11 percent more activity compared to the same period in 2019 and was up more than 40 percent from 2020.
