AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN FUNDING ALLOCATED TO TEN WEST VIRGINIA AIRPORTS

Ten airports in West Virginia are set to receive funding distributed by the U.S. Department of Transportation in support of the American Rescue Plan. The airports will receive a total of $3.2 million in allocated funding designed to provide economic aid and the promotion of safety precautions during the pandemic. The largest award of $1.88 million will be granted to the Tri-State/Milton J. Ferguson Field Airport.

The remaining funding will support nine other airports in the state including $1.1 million awarded to the Greenbrier Valley Airport. Morgantown Municipal Airport, Mercer County Airport and Wheeling Ohio County Airport will each receive $59,000. Fairmont Municipal Airport, Elkins-Randolph County Regional Airport, and Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport will individually receive $32,000. The Appalachian Regional Airport and Upshur County Regional Airport will also each receive $22,000 as part of the American Rescue Plan funding distribution for West Virginia airports.
