BILL NOE FLIGHT SCHOOL OPENS AT YEAGER AIRPORT

Marshall University’s Bill Noe Flight School has officially opened at Yeager Airport (CRW) in Charleston, West Virginia. Students of the program will be able to earn a four-year Commercial Pilot: Fixed Wing Bachelor of Science degree. The course offerings will help students achieve F.A.A. certifications enabling them to attain commercial pilot status for single and multi-engine aircraft. The available fleet for students will include up to nine Cirrus SR-20s along with a twin-engine Piper aircraft.

The flight school occupies 180,000-square-feet of CRW and includes a 10,000-square-foot building and a 12,000-square-foot hangar. Construction of the buildings required almost one year to reach completion. Marshall University anticipates reaching a peak graduating class of 50 pilots per year at the CRW location and has also partnered with Mountwest Community and Technical College to offer a two-year aviation maintenance degree at the Tri-State Airport in Wayne County set to start in 2022. The school is named for Marshall graduate Bill Noe who previously held the role of C.O.O. of NetJets and currently serves Marshall as an executive aviation specialist.
