STENNIS INTERNATIONAL OPENS NEW HANGARS

Stennis International Airport (HSA) in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, announced the opening of two new hangars last month. The construction projects totaling $5 million were partially funded by federal grants and include a 24,000-square-foot hangar suitable for aircraft storage, servicing and maintenance, and a 10,000-square-foot corporate hangar with office spaces. The state-of-the-art facilities provide climate control and fire suppression systems, internet access, sliding doors and other amenities.

The new hangars demonstrate the airport’s commitment to encouraging future growth and is actively working to attract businesses. With its nearly 8,500’ x 150’ runway and several instrument procedures, Stennis currently serves both military and civilian aircraft operations as well as domestic and international investment. Tyonek is a maintenance shop on the field that services C-130 aircraft and another facility houses a helicopter oil rig transport company that was displaced from Louisiana by hurricane Ida. In the coming year alone, the airport plans to add an additional 60,000 square feet of hangar space and apron area as it continues its rapid expansion.
