WESTERN AIRCRAFT OPENS NEW MRO FACILITY
In October Greenwich AeroGroup’s subsidiary, Western Aircraft opened a new 53,000 sq ft hangar at Boise Air Terminal (BOI) in Boise, Idaho, representing the completion of the first phase of a $17 million expansion of its MRO facility. Western now occupies an 18-acre footprint comprising 90,000 sq ft of hangar and office space in eight buildings. Phase two, expected to be complete by the end of the year, will entail a new 40,000 sq ft building housing avionics and finishing shops as well as administrative offices. The expansion is anticipated to add 100 more workers to its current MRO staff of 125 in Boise.
In addition to its full-service AvFuel Network FBO operation, Western Aircraft provides MRO services, avionics, interior finishing, charter services and aircraft sales and management. Western is a factory-authorized maintenance and modification facility for numerous major airframers including Gulfstream, Cessna Citations and Caravans, Embraer Executive Jets, Dassault Falcon, Daher Kodiak, Beechcraft King Air, Piper, and Pilatus.
