ELP RECEIVES CITY SUPPORT FOR NON-STOP AIR SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

The El Paso City Council has approved the city’s Air Service Development Incentive Program to promote non-stop service to new locations from the El Paso International Airport (ELP). The City of El Paso will offer incentives for a new airline and non-stop route to help reduce the associated costs and risks for airlines and to help improve connectivity options for the El Paso community. The incentives include landing fees waived for two years, 100-square-feet of operating space for two years, and funds for marketing based on seats.

The incentive program has been designed in an effort to expand air transportation and to support the City of El Paso’s Strategic Plan. The program was developed based on a comparative analysis of airports comparable to the size of ELP. Airport enterprise funds will be utilized to fund the incentive program and city tax dollars will not be used to fund the air service incentives.
