SOUTHWEST AIRLINES CELEBRATES 15TH YEAR OF MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION GRANT PROGRAM
TX – Southwest Airlines is celebrating 15 years of the company’s Medical Transportation Grant Program. The program enables families, including patients and caregivers, to travel for free across North America. This year, Southwest will donate more than $4 million in transportation to 76 grant recipients.
The program helps hospitals and medical transportation organizations with the ability to provide round-trip tickets for those in need. The program leverages more than 90 hospitals and medical organizations across the country. In addition to their financial donation this year, Southwest is also providing organizations with 15 additional tickets to support critical needs. Southwest allows participating nonprofit hospitals and organizations the freedom to determine how to distribute the tickets to caregivers and patients. The program began in 2007 and Southwest has donated more than $42.6 million in transportation to 46 cities throughout 28 states. Southwest celebrated its 50th Anniversary last year and is based in Dallas, Texas.
