WISK AERO AND LBEP TO BRING ADVANCED AIR MOBILITY TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
CA – Wisk Aero has partnered with the City of Long Beach in California through the Long Beach Economic Partnership (LBEP). The partnership is designed to help enable the future of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in Southern California. Wisk Aero is the developer of the first all-electric self-flying air taxi in the country.
Wisk Aero will work with the LBEP toward developing a working group to address the evaluation, planning, and implementation of AAM in Long Beach. The group will highlight a focus on autonomous flight and Wisk will co-chair the group with the LBEP for an initial two-year term. The group will study issues including related economic impact, workforce development, community acceptance, and outreach, funding, and the integration of AAM into city transportation plans. According to Wisk Aero, the results of an economic impact study are expected to be completed later this year. Wisk Aero is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and in New Zealand. The company has conducted over 1,550 test flights of a self-flying eVTOL air taxi.
