New Director and Deputy Director at ABQ
NM – The City of Albuquerque has named Richard McCurley as the new Director of Aviation and Brian Boyd as Deputy Director of Operations at the ABQ International Sunport. McCurley previously served as Deputy Director in 2020 and as Interim Director since last November. He will oversee the ABQ International Sunport along with the city’s general aviation airport called Double Eagle II which is home to 240 based aircraft and 120,000 annual operations.
McCurley has more than three decades of airport operations experience with previous involvement with the Houston Airport System. Boyd will assist McCurley with the oversight and management of all airport activity including aircraft operations, building and field maintenance, and the supervision of regulatory enforcement. Boyd holds 20 years of airport operations and management experience. He also worked at the Houston Airport System and most recently held the role of Safety Management Systems Manager for Hobby and Ellington Airports.
