DEN Construction Alert
CO – The Denver International Airport (DEN) has issued a construction alert for the Great Hall Project. The second phase of the Great Hall Project involves the construction of a new security checkpoint in the northwest corner of Level 6, along with a new triple escalator that will transport passengers post-security to the train platform. According to the airport, passengers should expect changes as the second phase of construction takes place.
The installation of construction walls on the train platform on Level 4 will not require passengers to be rerouted, but space will be restricted. The North security checkpoint will also close one hour early during work on the triple elevator so crews can safely install steel beams. The South security checkpoint will remain open at all times. The second phase of the Great Hall Project is currently on time and on budget, with completion expected by mid-2024. DEN intends for the Great Hall Project to help serve the airport’s goal of building a terminal that can accommodate 100 million passengers on an annual basis.
