JetBlue to Further its Footprint in NYC with 5,000 New Jobs Expected in 2022

NY – JetBlue plans to add 5,000 jobs to the market in New York City this year. The airline will work with the city of New York to establish a workforce partnership to help fill positions including airport and ground operations, technical operations, inflight, information technology, and support center roles. JetBlue currently employs 8,000 crew members throughout New York City.

JetBlue’s partnership with American Airlines through the Northeast Alliance (NEA) is contributing to the need to ramp up hiring initiatives as more than 500 NEA-operated flights are expected to arrive in New York City during the peak of the upcoming summer travel season. JetBlue’s continued integration with New York City is supported by the company’s corporate headquarters located in Long Island City and the airline’s presence at the region’s three main airports. JetBlue’s flagship Terminal 5 at JFK will be boosted by the new Terminal 6 project which will allow the airline to expand with opportunities for new gates beginning in 2025.
