FlightSafety International to Support NIFA SAFECON
OH – FlightSafety International has committed to the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) with naming rights to the SAFECON (Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference) National Championship. The event will now be titled the SAFECON National Championship Powered by FlightSafety. NIFA provides a forum for collegiate aviators and opportunities for students to leverage NIFA events, networking, and options beyond their college curriculums.
NIFA currently hosts regional and national competitions for more than 80 educational institutions. The organization was founded in 1919 with the first flying contest held for nine schools in 1920. The National SAFECON competition typically hosts more than 350 students that compete with the aid of 86 advisors, 90 judges, and 40 volunteers who support the multiple flights, ground, individual, and team events. FlightSafety International’s involvement with the SAFECON competition will help to advance the event and expand it to aviation maintenance students.
