New Texas High School Focuses on Aviation and Aerospace

TX – Rising Aviation High School opened in the fall of 2021 and is already considered a top-rated private high school in Addison, Texas. And while the curriculum is decidedly aviation-centric it is open to any students interested in a STEM-focused education.

In addition to the typical courses taken in high school, the STEM-accredited school offers electives in three aviation tracks that allow for some overlap, and all students graduate with a traditional STEM-related high school diploma. Aviation programs include Fixed-Wing Pilot, Drone Pilot, and Air Charter Operation & Management. For fixed-wing training the school operates an Evektor Harmony LSA and a Diamond DA-40 with Garmin G-1000 avionics. The charter program is a partnership with Monarch Aviation in which Rising Aviation owns and operates its own Beechcraft B200 Super King Air. Students in this program learn all aspects of the air charter business including scheduling, maintenance, marketing, planning, and FAA Part 135 regulatory compliance.

Rising Aviation is situated on the field at Addison Airport (ADS) north of Dallas and a second campus is slated for Dallas Executive (RBD) in southern Dallas. Tuition is very affordable and billed monthly rather than annually. This allows flexibility because the training is self-paced where some students proceed more rapidly finishing in less time while others may require more time. Thus the tuition structure is tailored to the needs of all students.
