Clay Lacy Breaks Ground at Waterbury-Oxford

CT – Clay Lacy Aviation celebrated the groundbreaking last month of an 11-acre, $20 million expansion at Waterbury-Oxford Airport (OXC) in Oxford, Connecticut. The first phase of the company’s investment will include a 40,000 SF hangar with a passenger terminal and executive offices. The company plans to build two additional structures each with 40,000 SF of hangar and office space bringing to the airport a total of more than 200 high-paying, permanent direct jobs generating $32 million in payrolls. The project will also provide nearly 450 indirect jobs during project construction. When completed in early 2024 the new facility will serve as the company’s East Coast headquarters while providing a full range of passenger, aircraft, FBO, and maintenance services. The entire project will conform to the Clay Lacy Sustainability Strategy, utilizing efficient building design, solar power, electric aircraft charging facilities, and sustainable aviation fuels.

Clay Lacy has also established a scholarship and internship program in collaboration with CT Aerotech which operates a two-year aircraft mechanic and maintenance technician program in Hartford, Connecticut. These programs demonstrate the company’s commitment to the area’s community and economic vitality while also fostering the next generation of aviation professionals.
