Thunder Ridge Recreational Airpark is located 7,000 feet above sea level and 95 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. The private airpark was designed and developed by Tracy Livingston as a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and the extreme temperatures of Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. The airpark and surrounding homes and ranches are designed for pilots and non-pilots alike who are looking for refreshing, clean air, plenty of outdoor activities, and moderate temperatures where air conditioning is not needed.

Thunder Ridge Recreational Airpark is an affordable dream for pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and weekend warriors. It is a rural community that offers moderate temperatures, fresh air, and a choice of property types, including 5-acre airpark lots and ranch parcels. Property owners can fly or drive into the community. The paved runway (31/13) is 4,000 feet long and 48 feet wide. Runway 13 also offers 2,700 feet of graded dirt as an overrun. The on runway 31 is located at 40 15’ 28.15” N, 110 51’ 31” W, and the end of runway 13 is located at 40 16’ 23.0”N, 110 52’ 26” W. The mag variation is 14E. Pilots can communicate on frequency 122.8. It’s important to note that there is no fuel or lighting available at the airstrip. Residents can enjoy flying in the backcountry, hiking, hunting, four-wheeling, boating, fishing, skiing, and snowmobiling.

The community is home to about 50 single-engine aircraft, including Piper Warriors, Cessna 152s, homebuilt, and sports planes. In order to fly into the airport, it is recommended that pilots have mountain and backcountry flying experience due to the high terrain surrounding the airport.
