Golf & Fly: Sometimes Flying in for a “Round or Two” is the Best Way to Tee-Off

This Golfer’s Paradise Garnered National Attention

CA – Just imagine for a moment a 2,700-foot airstrip that is conveniently just a quick golf cart ride away from the day’s first tee-off. Well, in Pauma Valley, CA this is entirely possible. It is a place where quick course access is indeed the case at the Pauma County Country Club. At a mere 50 miles to the north of the beautiful city of San Diego is Pauma Valley. This golfer’s paradise garnered national attention just a few short years after its initial grand opening in the late 1960s.

An Impressive Landing Strip

Iconic golf legends like Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Arnold Palmer, to name but a few were drawn to this remarkable course, eager to participate in the Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf Series. Respected golf course designer Robert Trent Jones Sr. is credited with masterfully crafting a truly amazing course as part of an impressively delightful country club. This special and very inviting California golf course along with its convenient landing strip is one of the few ever created in California by such an esteemed golf course designer.

Full and Unrestricted Use of the Airfield

The Pauma Valley Airpark (CL33) is a unique CA airstrip that is functionally interwoven into the greater Pauma Valley Country Club experience. Pilots who have become a member of the Country Club, are automatically eligible to also be a member of the local Pilot’s Association (PVCC Pilot’s association). This membership grants full and unrestricted use of the airfield. It also allows for participation in social functions, flyouts, annual open houses, and guest speaker dinners throughout the year. With nearly two dozen hangars and multiple tie-downs, as well as other limited aviation services, it’s the ideal spot to land an aircraft, park, and then simply go golfing.
