FAA FROM THE FLIGHT DECK VIDEO SERIES REACHES MILESTONE

D.C. –  The FAA’s From The Flight Deck video series has recently reached a milestone of 300,000 views. According to the FAA, the videos provide pilots with real runway approaches and airport taxiway footage from cockpit-mounted cameras. The footage is combined with diagrams and visual graphics to help highlight safety-sensitive items. An interactive map along with a YouTube channel dedicated to The Flight Deck video series is available to users as well as content surrounding general aviation safety challenges.

The FAA also offers a Runway Safety Simulator video series as a self-guided resource for flight instructors to use with students. The video series is interactive and designed to allow students to better understand surface safety best practices. Viewers are able to make decisions based on ATC instructions and have the ability to navigate on virtual airport surfaces. The scenarios available in the simulator are based on actual events and additional animations and resources are also accessible through the series.
