JACKSON HOLE AIRPORT RECEIVES AWARD

In October the Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) was honored with the Jay Hollingsworth Speas Award at the National Airports Conference in Savannah, Georgia. The airport received the award for its outstanding work on several environmental initiatives including waste diversion and recycling, emissions reduction and air quality, water quality and wildlife habitat restoration.

The prestigious award was established in 1983 by R. Dixon Speas and Ms. Speas in honor of their son Jay, who was passionately interested in improving environmental relationships between airports and heliports and the communities they served. Co-sponsors of the award include the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), and the Airport Consultants Council (ACC). Jackson Hole is the only commercial service airport within a national park and has had a long-standing partnership with the National Park Service to protect wildlife and natural resources in the area.
