New Hangar Going Up at Hazleton Regional
PA – Hazleton Regional Airport (HZL) in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, is looking forward to the opening of a new, heated 16,000 SF hangar in February 2023 and half of it is already leased. The hangar features a 28′ door and will be able to accommodate up to a Gulfstream G650. Which is good for the tenant, Global Air Charters, Inc., of Roseville, Minnesota, who operate several Gulfstream GIV long-range as well as GV and G550 ultra long-range aircraft. Airport manager David Chronowski expressed gratitude for the expansion project and is optimistic that it will bring more general aviation travelers to Hazleton.
Aviation development company Olympus Air, long-time tenants at HZL, are building the hangar and are hoping to lease the other 8,000 SF as soon as possible. Tom Kislan, owner of Olympus, said the company is committed to supporting the airport through real estate development. He noted that the expansion of streamlined aviation services benefits both the airport and the community by attracting more business and leisure travelers to the region. The airport has a 5,001′ x 100′ runway, several instrument approaches, a full-service FBO and maintenance and avionics services.
