New Luxury General Aviation Hangar Complex Opens in Northern California

CA – The Skyway Center is a new general aviation hangar complex that opened in Northern California at San Carlos Airport (KSQL). The project took over two and a half years to complete and was designed and constructed by Centrex, an Oregon-based aviation specialty design and construction firm.

The new facility is targeting the owner-flying community. The complex can accommodate all light single and twin-engine aircraft and light jets, such as the Citation Mustang and Pilatus PC-24. Encompassing over 50,000 square feet, the new complex has nine hangars ranging from 2,000 to 9,000 square feet. The hangars are available to lease in three different configurations, which include private, semi-private, and community options. Some of the features are extensive natural lighting and electrically operated bifold doors. In addition, each hangar is named after a pioneering woman aviator: from Harriet Quimby, the first woman to fly the English Channel; to the iconic Amelia Earhart; to Bessie Coleman, the first African American woman to receive a pilot license. More recent examples include Jeana Yeager and Christa McAuliffe.

Skyway Center also offers 20,000 square feet of office space, an aviation members-only private lounge, and event space that can be rented for all types of gatherings.
