New U.S. Customs Facility Opens at DuPage
IL – The DuPage Airport (DPA) board of commissioners and staff gathered with officials from the City of West Chicago, DuPage County, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to cut the ribbon on a new $1.3 million state-of-the-art CBP facility. Construction was completed in July on the 2,200 SF facility conveniently located in the DuPage Flight Center FBO, and it promises to greatly enhance movement for international passenger arrivals.
DuPage is the third-busiest airport in the state behind O’Hare and Midway and management considers it a prime destination for private charter and business travelers because of its convenience, ease of access, and more relaxed experience compared to its larger and much busier neighbors. Officials anticipate the new customs facility at the suburban airport will pique the interest of travelers wishing to avoid the congestion and hectic pace of the city center. The airport generates $1.5 billion in economic activity and supports 5,500 jobs in the Chicago area.
