07/02/20: The FAA and Boeing completed certification flight testing on the Boeing 737 Max in Washington state. Evaluation of the flight test data is the next task in the recertification of the aircraft.
07/21/20: The EAA held its Virtual AirVenture in lieu of the actual show, which was canceled due to the pandemic. The website offered (and still does) virtual floor plans, exhibitor and sponsor videos, and more. Tickets for the next AirVenture are available now, and will be held July 26 - August 1, 2021.
07/28/20: NetJets is reinstating most of its European fleet that had been destined for disposal. The reinstatement includes all pilots and cabin crew who had been furloughed in April. In addition, NetJets will add more than 60 additional aircraft across its fleet worldwide.
08/03/20: Curis System announced that its Curoxide hydrogen peroxide blend and portable fogging system has been approved by the EPA by meeting its criteria for disinfectant use against the Covid-19 virus on hard, non-porous surfaces.
08/03/20: The FAA released a Preliminary Summary of its evaluation of Boeing's proposed changes to its 737 Max intended to return the aircraft to service. The review has, to date, taken more than 18 months and required the work of over 40 engineers, inspectors, pilots, and technical review staff. It represents 60,000 FAA hours of review, certification testing, and evaluation of documents. The FAA's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) was scheduled to be published this week, opening up a 45-day comment period.
