RED BULL PAPER WINGS CONTEST

USA – Red Bull’s Paper Wings contest is back for 2022 and is the world’s largest paper airplane championship. Students across the globe are invited to fly a plain sheet of paper as far, as long, or as artistically through the air as possible. Three categories including Distance, Airtime, and Aerobatics will each crown national winners with a spot in the Red Bull Paper Wings World Final in Austria at Hangar-7.

The competition rules state paper planes must be constructed out of one piece of paper that is standard A4 format that does not weigh more than 100 grams. The sheet of paper can only be modified through folding. Ripping, gluing, cutting, stapling, and ballasting are not permitted. Qualifiers are offered this year with upcoming events scheduled throughout the world, including the South Central region of the United States. A list of qualifier locations can be found on the Red Bull Paper Wings website. Champions of each category at the World Final will also win a flight experience with Red Bull’s Flying Bulls. The final will take place May 13-14, 2022 in Salzburg, Austria.
