Rise Aviation Opens New FBO in North Texas
TX – Rise Aviation formally opened its new FBO terminal at North Texas Regional Airport (GYI) in Denison on August 1 in a new two-story, 10,720 SF building that was planned when the facility was known as the Lake Texoma Jet Center. Rise provides a full range of passenger and aircraft FBO services including concierge, amenities, fuel, ground service, storage, flight instruction, and maintenance. In addition, the building provides 1,750 SF of tenant suites and 850 SF of offices for airport administration operations. There is a passenger lobby with several seating areas, a refreshment bar, medium-sized conference room, business center, pilot lounge, snooze room, flight planning area, and on-site car rental.
Rise operates additional facilities at the airport that include 67,000 SF of hangar space able to accommodate ultra-long range business jets, 32,400 SF of offices and shop space, and 25 acres of ramp space for ample aircraft parking. Construction will begin next year on another 22,000 SF hangar and an airside arrival canopy.
North Texas Regional was formerly Perrin Air Force Base, established in 1941 and used to train pilots for World War II. The airport is situated between Sherman and Denison in the rapidly expanding corridor between the Dallas Metroplex and Lake Texoma.
