SANDUSKY COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT NAMES RUSSELL AS NEW MANAGER
OH – The Sandusky County Regional Airport has officially named Michael Russell as the new airport manager at S24. Russell attended the FAA Academy and completed Army aviation training at Fort Rucker before serving four tours and retiring from the US Army in 2020. Russell received the Legion of Merit award for more than 25 years of exceptionally meritorious service.
Russell’s duties at the airport will include overseeing airport operations, operational safety, and the development of community relations. Russell also graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor of arts in Spanish and German language and literature. He also served as an enlisted soldier, senior noncommissioned officer, and chief warrant officer for air traffic services. The airport expects his background in Army aviation to help continue to serve airport users with outstanding service. The Sandusky County Regional Airport is a general aviation facility that supports corporate, commercial, and recreational aircraft.
