SHELTAIR CELEBRATES ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND ANOTHER GROUNDBREAKING
Sheltair’s award-winning FBO at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (BJC) in Broomfield, Colorado, celebrated their one-year anniversary in September by breaking ground on a new large-cabin class size hangar at BJC. The $10 million project will mirror the existing hangar at 30,240 square feet and also provide 6,000 square feet of office space for tenants.
With a 210-foot-wide and 28.6-foot-high door, the hangar will be capable of housing the large-cabin class of business jets including the Gulfstream G650 and the Bombardier Global 6500. To accommodate the needs of tenants, passengers, and crew there will be parking for 94 vehicles, including 16 covered spaces.
The groundbreaking took place one year after Sheltair opened the doors of its new FBO terminal at Rocky Mountain Metro, which Aviation International News (AIN) recognized with its Topflight Award as the best new FBO of 2020. According to local government officials and airport staff, the new development reaffirms the strong commitment Sheltair has to the region and the robust partnership with Rocky Mountain Metro Airport.
