SLC ANNOUNCES NEW DOMESTIC AIRLINE
Spirit Airlines announced it will now serve the state of Utah for the first time with service to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Spirit is the first domestic airline to announce operations at SLC’s newly unveiled airport. SLC recently underwent a $4.5 billion airport rebuild project and opened the first phase of the new airport in 2020.
Daily nonstop routes will now be available on Spirit from SLC to Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX), and Orlando (MCO). This month, the USO will also be celebrating a milestone at SLC, as it opens its first center in Utah since WWII. The new USO center at SLC will be accessible to military service members and their families traveling through Utah. According to the Salt Lake City International Airport, SLC serves more than 26 million passengers per year and is ranked as the 21st busiest airport in North America and the 70th busiest airport in the world.
