West Star Expanding Chattanooga Facility
TN – West Star Aviation announced in July the opening of a newly acquired and renovated hangar at Lovell Field Airport (CHA) in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The building comprises 19,200 SF of hangar space and 7,000 SF of shop space that will be used as a dedicated Embraer support facility. The hangar has been upgraded with all-new LED lighting throughout, fall protection equipment, and a completely remodeled office and lounge space as well as a fuel farm tank and dedicated support for the Embraer line of aircraft. In fact, West Star has been designated as an Embraer Authorized Base Maintenance facility and has begun construction of additional hangar and office space that will bring its total footprint at CHA to about 256,828 SF when completed in mid-2023.
Including the ongoing Chattanooga project, West Star has planned expansions at three of its four primary MRO bases. The others will be at Grand Junction Regional (GJT) in Colorado, and at St Louis Regional (ALN) in East Alton, Illinois. West Star has been one of the fastest-growing business MRO service providers over the past twenty years.
