Westchester County Executive Airport (HPN) – Convenience and Accessibility in the Heart of New York
NY – Westchester County Executive Airport (HPN) is located on the border between New York and Connecticut, and it’s popular with casual and professional aviators. The airport was first activated in 1943 and is conveniently located 30 miles north of New York City and 5 miles east of White Plains, NY. As a result, it is a great place to land if you need to conduct business in the area or want to see the sights. HPN has regularly scheduled flights where passengers can purchase tickets from the airline ahead of time and arrive at the airport on their flight date. American Airlines, BermudAir, Breeze Airways, Delta, and JetBlue serve the airport.

Westchester County Airport is open to the public 24/7. It has two runways; Runway 11/29 and Runway 16/34. Runway 16/34 is a generous 6,549 feet long and 150 feet wide. It contains high-intensity runway lights. Runway 16 sits at an elevation of 439 feet, and the beginning of Runway 34 sits at 378 feet. Runway 11/29 is 4,451 feet long and 150 feet wide. The end of Runway 11 has an elevation of 397 feet, and the end of Runway 29 has an elevation of 387 feet. The runway edge lights are medium intensity.
HPN Aircraft and Operational Statistics
Westchester County Airport is home to 284 aircraft with 131 single-engine airplanes, 37 multi-engine airplanes, 105 jets, and 11 helicopters. The airport averages 437 aircraft operations a day. Fifty-seven percent of those operations are from transient general aviation. Twenty-seven percent of the operations are from local general aviation, 7 percent is from commercial operations, and less than 1 percent is from military operations.
HPN Airspace

Things to Do in Westchester County
Westchester County offers plenty to do. There are over 50 parks, six 18-hole golf courses, and plenty of history to explore. For example, you could travel to the Rockefeller properties or visit the Art Deco Amusement park, which has seven rides built before 1930. They also offer a winter wonderland at the Kensico Dam Plaza, a short 1.2-mile drive, where visitors can view Christmas lights and displays. White Plains also offers plenty of shopping. Neiman Marcus, Burberry, and Gucci can all be found in town.

New York is home to several fly-in events. In early December, there’s a Santa Fly-In at Central Jersey Airport. There’s also the Bethpage Airshow in May at Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh and the Greenwood Lake Airshow in June in West Milford, NJ.
