The Anticipation Builds for Oshkosh – Nearly 700,000 Aviation Aficionados Expected to Attend

USA – Are you excited to attend Oshkosh 2024? The truth is that many people start preparing for Oshkosh months in advance, but you don’t have to. Tickets are still available, and if EAA Airventure Oshkosh 2024 is anything like 2023, we will all be in for some thrilling airshows, fantastic food, and excellent aviation information. After all, 2023 welcomed more than 677,000 aviation enthusiasts, pilots, their families, and over 10,000 aircraft. Oshkosh expects an even bigger turnout this year, and here at APN, we couldn’t be more excited. This year, our APN Affiliate from Georgia, Jim Flock, is excited to attend this captivating aviation event at Wittman Regional Airport (OSH) in Oshkosh, WI.

Who Is Jim Flock?

Jim Flock is a pilot, aviation enthusiast, and commercial real estate agent with over 25 years of experience. He is an active member of AOPA and EAA. Jim Flock is Aviation Property Network’s Regional Affiliate for the southeastern part of the United States, and he will be at EAA Airventure Oshkosh, which runs from July 22 through July 28.

Flying to Oshkosh

If you plan to fly to Oshkosh, EAA recommends that you do your homework, including utilizing any flight simulator software you may have at home, so that you can practice the approach at Wittman Regional Airport (OSH). Also, read the FAA NOTAM for information on the AirVenture Flight procedures.

What are the main events at EAA Airventure Oshkosh 2024?

Oshkosh is known for its fantastic air shows and flight stunts. These events are held daily. On Monday through Saturday, airshows are held from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Sunday, they are held from 1 PM until 4:30 PM.

Snowbirds

The Snowbirds will be back for Oshkosh 2024. They will perform in the afternoon on July 26, 27 and 28. The Snowbirds are an aerobatic flight team from the Royal Canadian Air Force. Officially, they are known as the 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, performing airshows all over Canada and the United States. At Oshkosh, they’ll be flying the CT-114, a fantastic aircraft. The CT-114 has a length of 9.75 meters (30.57 feet). It has a wingspan of 11.12 meters (36.48 feet) and a height of 2.84 meters (9.32 feet). It has an empty weight of 2,409 kg (5,310.93 pounds). Learn About Military Aviation Opportunities for Women

If you’re female, you may wonder what military aviation opportunities you have. There will be several panels and presentations at EAA Airventure 2024 this year. On July 22, female aviators from the Army National Guard in Wisconsin will host a panel at the WomenVenture Center from 10 AM until 11 AM. They will follow this up with a presentation entitled Aim High from 1 PM to 2:15 PM.

On June 24 from 9 AM until 10:15 AM, visitors can attend a forum on how to become an Air National Guard pilot at the AeroEducate Center. At 6 PM, Captain Meredith Porter will attend a panel at the Theater in the Woods. Finally, on July 26 from 9 AM until 10:15 AM, the AeroEducate Center will host a forum on flight support roles in the Air National Guard.

FAA Pilot Research

During Oshkosh, the FAA will be hosting a paid research study. This study is open to pilots who have logged flight or simulator time within the last six months. The FAA is searching for pilots who are at least 25 years old and hold a Class III medical or pilots who are at least 60 years old or older who have a Class I or II medical. The FAA IRB approves this research study, which takes about four hours. The FAA is looking to test specific mental abilities to create a baseline that they can use to accurately assess and recertify pilots who have experienced a medical event.

If you plan to attend Oshkosh this year, there’s no shortage of events and activities. You could watch several air shows, participate in the career fair, learn about aviation opportunities for women, take a flight in a historic aircraft, meet aviation professionals, and even join in a 5K run/walk. At APN, we’re excited to attend and hope to see you there.
